If you, see me drowning in this sea of sorrow

Watching life, pass me by through the prison in my mind

Now and then, I see things clear as polished glass
But it seems, those times are too fragile to last
How many decades must I waste, waiting for this to pass
How far do I have to withdraw to escape the pains of the past

Leaving the battlefield with nothing to lose and nothing to gain
