The pumpkin patch

The pumpkin patch is growing empty
The sun is setting fast
The bats have left the church belfry
Its Halloween at last!
The full moon swims
The tree's they sway
All light has drained
From the 31st day
Now the Ghost's and Goblins
Can roam and play
(And the Tricker- Treater's know there way)
To the doorsteps lined with spider webs.

And the howl of the Wolf man echoes loud
But doesn't even stir the crowd
Not even Dracula can cause a fright
In the children that he tries to bite
Ghouls and Zombies walk disillusioned
Passing throngs of sugary kids
Their presence doesn't raise a brow,
As through darkened streets, they run and growl
To these children Halloween means
The fun, the thrills and the screams!
But this, 'is no longer a monsters dream!!!!
